Scotties Take 12th at UNG Invitational

OAKWOOD, Ga.—Agnes Scott Cross Country ran to a 12th place finish at the University of North Georgia Invitational on Saturday morning.

Senior Faridah Nalunkuuma (Kampala, Uganda) led the way for the Scotties once again, finishing in 39th overall which was good enough for 25 points. The Scottie captain crossed the finish line with a time of 20:56, which was a personal record in a 5k event. 

Allyssa Willis (Apache Junction, Ariz.) came in 85th overall as the second Scottie to cross the tape with a time of 23:22, while Ellie Vergura (Atlanta, Ga.) was just a minute behind in 96th overall.

Isabelle Eiden (Chicago, Ill.) and Olivia Bowman (Hockessin, Del.) rounded out the scoring for the Scotties, who totaled 316 as a team.

Host UNG won the meet outright with 33 points, just clipping SCAD Atlanta with 34 points. Emory was the top Division III squad at the event with a third-place finish with 55 total points and three top-10 performances individually.

The Scotties have three weeks to get ready for their next event when they head to the Bobcat Invitational on Friday, October 6 at 5:15 p.m.
