Barons Take Season Series over Scotties 3-0

MOUNT VERNON, Ga.—Agnes Scott volleyball's plan to enact revenge for a home loss a week ago was thwarted by Brewton-Parker to the tune of a 3-0 defeat. For the second Wednesday in a row, the Barons did just enough to get by a Scottie squad still searching for their first victory of the season. The Barons improve to 3-13, while Agnes Scott sees its ledger move to 0-8.

A week ago, Tiara White (Sinton, Texas) was a powerful force for the Scotties with 13 kills, but the Barons were better prepared this time around, limiting the Scottie junior to only six points. Alex Roquemore (Dallas, Texas) had a good day for the Scotties with three kills, two solo blocks, and a service ace.

Mo Sutphin was the leader for the Barons with 10 of the team's 19 kills.

Agnes Scott finished with only 12 kills as a team after more than doubling that a week ago.

The Scotties' best chance at claiming a set in the match came in the second, when the team battled back from as many as six down to tie the score at 23 all. However, Agnes Scott squandered its momentum with two consecutive service errors to allow the Barons to reclaim the lead and the set.

Agnes Scott heads to Covenant this weekend for a USA South quad-match with Maryville and Berea. The Scotties lost to Berea in their home-opening weekend in early September.
