Sewanee Downs Scotties in Tournament Finale

SEWANEE, Tenn.—Agnes Scott saw its weekend close with a 3-0 loss to host Sewanee at the Sewanee Volleyball Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The Scotties fall to 0-6 on the year, while the Tigers improve to 8-3.

The Tigers controlled each set, finishing with a 25-14, 25-17, 25-15 final score to keep themselves perfect on the weekend.

Musumaulai Galoia (Hephzibah, Ga.) rebounded from a tough match against Centre, leading the Scotties with seven kills, while Tiara White (Sinton, Texas) chipped in another five. Caroline Irving (Columbus, Ga.) finished with 12 assists and three kills.

A variety of Sewanee players got in the action with 10 players registering at least one kill. Olivia Nichols was the top offensive player for the Tigers with eight kills on 17 attempts. The Tigers also forced the issue in the service game, taking advantage of 13 defensive miscues for service aces.

Irving was named to the All-Tournament Team following the conclusion of Saturday's event. 

The Scotties return to Decatur on Wednesday when they host NAIA foe Brewton-Parker for a 7 p.m. start.
