Scotties Fall Twice at Sewanee Invitational

SEWANEE, Tenn.—Agnes Scott Volleyball dropped two matches on day one of the Sewanee Volleyball Invitational. The Scotties opened the tournament with a 3-0 loss to Mississippi University for Women, before losing to Centre by the same score in the day's finale. The Scotties will look to avoid an 0-3 weekend when they play host Sewanee tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 p.m.

The Scotties fall to 0-5 on the season.

MUW 3 – 0 Agnes Scott: 25-15, 25-15, 25-12

The Owls controlled rallies for much of the afternoon as Agnes Scott was unable to string multiple points together for the majority. MUW was able to pull away in each set with big runs to put the Scotties in difficult positions they were unable to dig out from.

Agnes Scott dropped the match to the Owls for the first time in three all-time meetings. The Scotties beat the Owls 3-0 in 2017 and 2018.

Tiara White (Sinton, Texas) was the leading point-getter with seven kills, while Alex Roquemore (Dallas, Texas) and Musumaulai Galoia (Hephzibah, Ga.) combined for 13 points in total.

Caroline Irving (Columbus, Ga.) set up 18 kills, while Ahmanie Guillaume (Orlando, Fla.) dug 10 attacks.

Centre 3 – 0 Agnes Scott: 25-11, 25-15, 25-21

The first two sets followed a similar trajectory as the opening match for the Scotties, but a solid third set gave the Scotties hope as things begin in click in the matches ahead.

White was the top offensive player for the Scotties in the second match with nine of Agnes Scott's 17 kills in the match. Irving added 14 more assists.
