Braun Steps Down from Volleyball Coaching Post

Agnes Scott College head volleyball coach Anna Braun has announced she will resign from her role to pursue other professional opportunities effective February 22.

Braun led the Scotties to back-to-back USA South postseason appearances, the program's first two qualifications in the tournament ever. She was thrust into the head role just days before the 2017 season and served as the interim head coach while leading the Scotties to a sixth-place finish in the West Division. Braun accepted the full-time role in February 2018 and once again led the Scotties to a sixth-place finish in the West despite possessing one of the youngest rosters in the conference.

Braun coached Resa Knott '18 to a USA South All-West Division nod following the 2017 season and oversaw Bella Kammerer (Mt. Sterling, Ky.) become the first Scottie to notch 1,000 assists and 1,000 digs for a career, this past fall.

"I want to thank Anna for her commitment to Agnes Scott Volleyball over the past three years. She has done exceptional work to continue to grow our program and we are excited about building on that momentum going forward," said Allison Kern, Director of Athletics. "We are sad to see her go, but we wish her and her family continued success in their next phase."

A national search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
