Agnes Scott Drops Two at Maryville Tri-Match

MARYVILLE, Tenn.—Agnes Scott Volleyball dropped a pair of matches to Maryville and Johnson University (Tenn.) on Saturday afternoon. The Scotties opened the day with a 3-0 loss to host Maryville in the USA South Conference opener before falling on the wrong side of a match that went the distance, a 3-2 loss to Johnson.

The Scotties looked in prime position to rebound from a tough matchup against Maryville in the day's first match with a 2-1 lead after three sets. Johnson controlled the entirety of the fourth and kept the Scotties at bay in the fifth to complete the comeback.

Bella Kammerer (Mt. Sterling, Ky.) had 30 assists in the finale against Johnson, her second highest output of the season. Paige Heck (Indianapolis, Ind.) was the leader in kills for the Scotties on the day with 15 combined between the two matches. Musumaulai Galoia (Hephzibah, Ga.) blocked three attacks to tie Kalia Jones (Atlanta, Ga.), who blocked two of her own, for the season lead with eight solo rejections.

Agnes Scott (2-11) heads to Piedmont on Wednesday to take on the Lions at 7 p.m.
