Scotties Open GSAC Tournament With Win

DECATUR, Ga. - Paige Heck and Bonnie Derks each had 10 kills as the #2 Agnes Scott College volleyball team cruised to a quarterfinal win over #7 Mills College in the quarterfinals of the Great South Athletic Conference Volleyball Championship Tournament.  The Scotties (11-14, 5-0 GSAC) hit .354 as a team to easily handle the Cyclones (0-19, 0-3 GSAC), 3-0 (25-6, 25-16, 25-9).

Anna Tomkins dished out 29 assists and had an incredible 12 service aces, several of which came in the first set as she served the first 19 points of the match before Mills finally got on the board.  Kayleigh McCrary added 7 kills and Shakirah Dodson pitched in with 6, while Bella Kammerer led the defense with 13 digs.

The Scotties advance to the semifinals, where they will take on #3 Finlandia University (16-17), who rolled past Wesleyan in their quarterfinal match.  The match will take place on Saturday, November 7 at 1:00 p.m.
