Johnson Named to All-USA South Awards List

ROME, Ga.—First-year Myah Johnson (Pepperell, Mass.) was rewarded for an outstanding season with a USA South Conference West Division Second Team honor as announced by the conference office on Thursday afternoon. The awards were nominated and voted on by the league's coaches.

Johnson was the lone Agnes Scott representative on the list despite the program registering two more conference victories and a better-than projected finish in the West Division in 2019.

The first-year striker was a revelation for a Scottie offense looking to replace four-year standout Zoey Perchaluk atop the unit. Johnson made an immediate impact, scoring a hat-trick in just her third career game—an "upset" win over East Division runner-up Salem College in September. Johnson finished with nine goals, which was fifth best in the USA South following the regular season and included another hat-trick in the season finale against Berea College. Nine goals was the most by a Scottie since Ashlyn Edwards put 10 into the back of the net during the 2015 season, her first season in purple and black.

Johnson was just edged for Rookie of the Year honors by Raine Greene of William Peace University, who scored 12 goals in 2019.

The first-year from the Northeast became the first Scottie on the awards list since Perchaluk garnered a second-team nod following the 2017 season.

Sophomore Journey Bradham (Dunwoody, Ga.) was Agnes Scott's representative on the USA South All-Sportsmanship team.
