Previous Matchup

The Hawks stormed away with a 4-1 victory that ultimately gave them home-field advantage in the first round over the Scotties. However, the final score was a bit deceiving.

Huntingdon caught the Scotties off guard in the second minute of regulation only to see stellar first-year Myah Johnson (Pepperell, Mass.) knot the score at one in the fourth minute.

The Hawks took the lead right back nine minutes later and added two more scores in the second half to make it a slanted score. Agnes Scott had several chances to make the game interesting, including a handful of point-blank chances that took an unlucky turn for the Scotties.

Things to Know

  • Seventeen different players have scored a goal for Huntingdon this season with first-year Erin Cembrale leading the way with six. The 17 different players mark a conference-best in that regard.
  • Agnes Scott leads the all-time series 21-6-2, but the tide has turned in recent years as the Hawks have moved up the standings. Huntingdon has won the last four meetings, including a postseason matchup in Montgomery during the 2017 season.
  • Johnson enters the match as the fifth best goal scorer in the USA South with nine goals and the Hawks will be looking to shut Agnes Scott's top offensive presence down from the start.

Quotable

Head Coach Eric Struble:

"We're excited to see Huntingdon again and think it's going to be a good match up once again. They're a bit unique in the conference in that they're very aggressive in how they press high up the field and managed to stay fairly compact while doing so. You combine that with a deep and athletic bench and you've got a tough match up overall. But I think we'll set ourselves up for some success if we continue to play our brand of soccer and look to combine quickly to feet. The quicker we play and do so with composure, the easier a time we'll have playing through their press. Then of course we just have to finish our chances when we create them."
