Hawks Tag Scotties Late for 3-0 Win

MONTGOMERY, Ala.—Huntingdon outlasted Agnes Scott Women's Soccer on Tuesday night at the Samford Complex by the final score of 3-0. The Hawks scored once in the first half, but the game remained tight until a pair of goals for the home side over the final seven minutes of regulation.

The game played fairly even in the first half with each side totaling five shot attempts and back-and-forth possession. Huntingdon's goal from Elena Guy in the 25th minute was the only difference between the two sides over the first 45 minutes.

Huntingdon's depth proved vital in the second half as the Hawks wore down the Scotties to the tune of a 14-2 shot advantage. Agnes Scott was able to keep things close on the defensive end for much of the period, but Huntingdon was finally able to break through in the 84th and 86th minutes with strikes from Mac Pearson and Meredith Harrison

Abby Ackerson (Hoover, Ala.) took the loss in goal for the Scotties despite making eight saves. Kylie Kersh stopped three Agnes shots.

Val'Dazia Todd (Warner Robbins, Ga.) registered two shots on goal for the Scotties.

Agnes Scott's (3-8-1) string of strong opponents continues when they head to Greensboro College this Sunday for a 1 p.m. start. The Pride are one of the final remaining unbeaten teams in the nation this fall at 12-0 and 4-0 in USA South Conference play.
