INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—Two-sport Scottie Zoey Perchaluk (Fort Erie, Ont.) was named as Agnes Scott College Athletics’ nominee for NCAA Woman of the Year on Wednesday. Perchaluk was an eight-semester student-athlete for the Scotties in soccer and basketball before graduating this past May.
ROME, Ga.--The USA South Athletic Conference has released its 2018-2019 Academic All-Conference Team. This season found 1,441 student-athletes earning Academic All-Conference honors, including 32 from Decatur.

ROME, Ga.—Junior Garis Grant (Charleston, S.C.) was named to the USA South West Division Second Team on Thursday afternoon as released by the conference office. Grant found her name on the season awards list for the third consecutive season after finishing as one of the top producing forwards once again.

Garis Grant (Charleston, S.C.) led all scorers with 21 points while notching her fourth consecutive double-double in what has become a dominant January for the junior.
BEREA, Ky.—Berea (13-4, 9-1 USA South) survived a scare from Agnes Scott in a 70-68 overtime contest on Sunday afternoon at the Seabury Center. The Scotties looked poised to notch their second win of the season in upset fashion, but Berea scored in the waning seconds of regulation and then again in overtime to beat the visitors.
MARYVILLE, Tenn.—Maryville College broke open a close game with a powerful second half to beat the Agnes Scott Scotties 83-47 in USA South Women’s Basketball on Saturday afternoon. Garis Grant (Charleston, S.C.) had her fourth double-double in the last six games with 15 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks to lead the Scotties.

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga.—A 25-5 run spanning the first and second quarters was all host Covenant needed to beat Agnes Scott in USA South Women’s Basketball action on Wednesday afternoon. The Scotties put up a good fight coming out of halftime, but Covenant’s first-half spurt gave them the cushion they needed to pull off a 63-48 win.
MEMPHIS, Tenn.—Rhodes College defended its home gym with a 73-47 win over Agnes Scott in the final game of 2018 for both teams. The Lynx outscored the Scotties in each quarter and broke open the game in the final period to win its seventh contest of the season. Agnes Scott falls to 0-12 this year.

The Vikings held a three-point lead at halftime but nearly matched their first-half scoring total in the third period to put some distance between the two sides.

The Scotties took a one-point lead into the break, but third-quarter woes continued to haunt the home side as Brevard (6-2, 2-1 USA South) used an early run to reclaim the advantage for good in a 52-41 win.
LAGRANGE, Ga.—A dip into USA South Conference play did not go quite as planned as LaGrange defended its gym with a 58-36 win over Agnes Scott on Wednesday night. The Panthers raced out to a double-digit lead after the first quarter and pulled away from the Scotties to get over .500 for the season at 5-4.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—A frustrating second half led to Agnes Scott Women’s Basketball to a 64-44 loss at Birmingham Southern on Wednesday, November 28. The Scotties were the sharper team in the first 20 minutes of action despite trailing by two at the break, but two lengthy scoring droughts in the second half allowed the Panthers to change the outlook completely in a non-conference matchup.

ATLANTA, Ga.—Oglethrope showed why it’s one of the best teams in the South region as the Stormy Petrels handled Agnes Scott 78-37 in non-conference women’s basketball action. The Stormy Petrels built up a 41-11 lead by halftime and never let the Scotties get in a groove to improve to 2-0 on the season. Agnes Scott falls to 0-3 after playing three games in four days to start the year.
