Scotties Fall in Tournament Final, 56-40

RALEIGH, N.C. - Poor foul shooting and 35 turnovers doomed the Agnes Scott College basketball team, as they fell on the road to the host, William Peace University, 56-40, in the final of the Jackie Ammons Classic.  The Pacers (3-1) recorded 20 steals on the night, while the Scotties (1-3) were 7-for-21 from the charity stripe, struggling to only ten points in the second half after opening the game by leading the first quarter, 21-18.

For the Scotties, Kisha Simpson continued her strong season, scoring 14 points and pulling down 16 rebounds, both of which were game-highs.  However, the Scotties would go cold from the field in the second half, as they shot 20% from the field, and missed all 5 free throws that they attempted in the second half.  Laniqua Collins chipped in with 9 points, Jakaria Fleming added 8, and Jalexis Teemer had 7 points and 7 assists.

The Scotties will return to action on Tuesday, November 24, as they travel to Sewanee for a 6:00 CST contest with the Tigers.
