Softball Drops Two at Emory Invitational

ATLANTA, Ga. - In the first two games of the Emory 3n2 Elite Invitational, Agnes Scott (0-4) fell to Huntingdon in their first contest, 9-3, before Emory exploded in the second contest of the day, outscoring the Scotties, 19-1.

In Game 1, sophomore Anna Tomkins was impressive at the plate, going 3-for-3 for the game, including two doubles.  Kristin Root had an RBI for the Scotties, as she drove in Deanna Fulton in the fifth inning.

In Game 2, it was all Eagles, as Emory scored 6 runs in the first inning, and added 2 in the third, and 11 runs in the fourth.  The game was called after five innings.  Kelsea Hunter doubled in Jordyn Portis in the second inning for the Scotties' only run.

The Scotties will return to Emory tomorrow, as they face off again with both opponents from today. They take the field against Huntingdon at noon, followed by Emory at 2:00 p.m.
